Stuart Haynes The new version of ‘Naked’ is brilliant - actually adds to the aggression and power of the original. The hypnotic bass propels the song forwards, with Ihor’s acidic but prescient lyrics making the listener think. What a great album!

Naked 06:24
Alright listen up. Now some of you people listening to this may be too cool to be moved by anything that you see or hear in the world today. You may think you're too clever or too hard to be taken for a ride or have your weaknesses exposed. You may feel you have to be at least one step ahead of everyone else in order to demonstrate that you're not a sheep or a fool. So you play games to hide those parts of yourself that you feel are vulnerable or worthless. I'm talking about you journos, you anti-vaxxers, you hard men. Well I'm not that kind. You see, I'm naked. I came into this world naked and I'll go out stripped of all my pretensions, so while I'm alive I'll not perpetrate those mind games that just fuck up everyone who comes across them. What you see is what I am; hurt me and I'll cry, love me and I'll rejoice. I'm completely transparent, exposed, naked. I see a hard man walking down the street Iike a killer and I know what he's fighting for - to be baby naked. I see a proud woman deny her true feelings for a man and I know what her secret desire is for - to strip naked. I see a politician on the TV hungry for power and I know what his lust is for - to be seen by millions naked. Ah, what’s that? Naked. Alright, I want everyone to join in now, and I don’t mean clap your hands or sing along - I mean naked. I want everyone out there to start taking off their clothes. You don’t need to be embarrassed. We’re all friends here. I’ll show you mine if you show me yours. There’s nothing to be afraid of. We can feel clean and we can feel pure and we can be sure that there’s more to life than a body. Be naked and be free. We can join together and walk the streets naked. And we can look upon our bodies and feel no shame. We can be children again, like little children, pure and innocent. Give up your games, your clothes. Give up. Be naked. Who’ll be the first to take off their clothes?

Go With Him 05:24
Go with him If love’s jealousies are unsatisfied Go with him If you think he pleases you more than I Go with him And kiss the feet of a total stranger Go with him If you think you can tear any unfair advantage from his glad submission Go with him With poison in your spleen and vipers in your breast Go with him And let maddening tongues of fire lick my vitals Go with him My wretched darling, my jealous pet, my lovely succubus Go with him And destroy in a moment what took lifetimes to build Go with him And pour the smoking cankers of your invective over his fatuous mistakes Go with him Go to the anvil of your crushing hate, and in the fierce heat of infidelity smash to pieces your diseased and violent passions for me Go with him And I will exult in my new powers over death Go with him And let demonic forces finally mate Go with him And the blinding magnesium fire of pain will kiss your burning cheeks Go with him And touch the raw nerve of exquisite longing Go with him And fuse the glowing quivering terminals of desire Go with him And burn out the twisted, spitting, crackling wires of life Go with him And bring to dust my marble erections Go with him I defy you

Walking to the Gallows The hangman gives a smile Such beauty for a young boy “Now come, Juvenile!” Too soon my life is over never will I waste the wine Some call it misfortune But it’s there by design A knitting lady sings songs Ditties about Strange fruit Her husband was a sailor Played jew’s harp and a flute I admit I wasn’t legit I stole what I couldn’t grow I had to fight to get a life And the ghetto was my foe Call me a witness tell them how it is “Poor men catch a wild goose a rich man says it’s his” Walking to the gallows A preacher he did swear Love is not the answer A broken boy will not repair I’ve seen this scene repeated When I was a growing child Listened to the whiplash cracking Of many a neck gone wild “Is this wrong or is it right?” Asks my judge from below Animals in iron cages scream back “You’re supposed to know!” Informers watch spectators searching for my friends The hangman throws a lever And that’s how my story ends Walking to the Gallows The hangman gives a smile Such beauty for a young boy “Now come, Juvenile!”

Put away your phones The ceremony is about to begin and not paying attention will be a sin. Put away your phones This performance is not uploadable nor reloadable for the inconsolable who did not attend. Put away your phones Your insta post will in an instant change nothing, at most it will be host to ghosts hidden inside a coffin. Put away your phones The picture of your meal does not conceal the fact it feeds me nothing. The picture of your face does not embrace my search for me me me meaning. If you choose YouTube and confuse the news with the sponsor’s message, you lose. Put away your phones The stories are false, the joy is fake – awake to the fact your life is not a mistake Put your phones away And stand in line with an open mind - watch the world go by, you never know what you might find. Put your phones away You’re Chasing dragons to boost your score – but the games rigged to make you play more and more and more Put away your phones The parasite is writhing in your hand, biting the fingers that execute the commands Put away your phones, What’s in your palm is a grenade created by spies. It blows shrapnel into your ears and eyes and then you’re crippled for life by hatred and lies. Put away your phones This weapon has disarmed you, emasculated you, imprisoned you, cut you, reshaped you, shamed you, disavowed you, groomed you, fucked you, abused you, made you weep – and now it’s your only friend that wants to meet.

The world lives by profit and loss. Let me tell you what happens when the world lives by profit and loss. Unscrupulous and greedy people are driven to make as much money as quickly and easily as possible. The worst possible people with the worst possible motives are encouraged to command the levers of power. Governments and corporations are controlled by the worst of the psychopaths. They sanction the wholesale destruction of the World's natural resources for the short-term benefit of their profits. What they're leaving behind for future generations is a legacy of their excrement. What the current generation has to live with is the stockpiling of the excrement on the commons. Rivers of pollution flow through the heart of society. We wallow in our own filth. Such pernicious greed will inevitably and inexorably devour its own genitals - and where is the profit in that? In the meantime, the poor fisherman and peasants of this world pay for the luxuries of the greedy. They lose what little they have in an effort to satisfy the insatiable appetite of the morbidly obese. Why do the greedy need so much when there is no profit and loss in being a human being? When there is no profit and loss in love? When there is no profit and loss on a dead planet? When there is no profit and loss - there’s only life. And the only thing the greedy really need is to liberate themselves from the bondage of profit and loss. It’s a collective madness driving the train of humanity off the rails and into the abyss. It’s a disease of poverty; the poverty of imagination to create something better. A disease of greed. We need to eradicate it. Maybe then we’ll understand what true wealth, true power, really means.

Here comes your future Any colour, any colour - but not black Here comes your future Any colour, any colour - but not black The creeping zombie of monoculture will invade your town It will crawl into your bed, eat your brains right out of your head Fill your dreams with tailored adverts broken only by celebrity news alerts It’s the monoculture Future baby, It’s the monoculture Future Yeah, It’s here today, there tomorrow, there’s no escape you can only follow The West is the best monoculture, no need to try the rest, Don’t matter if they come as guests. We’ll eat them anyway, we’ll process them: take out the spice, add the fat and sugar make them Disney nice. We’ll package them, ship them, all in a fast way, So you can eat them and eat and eat them and eat them All in one day It’s the monoculture Future baby and it’s coming your way The monoculture future is all-singing all-dancing Even though you might think the song sounds similar And the dancing looks familiar, we’ve put ‘new’ on the label So there’s no denying what you’re buying is hot off the press It’s the monoculture Future baby. It’s the monoculture Future, okay. Go anywhere and I’ll be there - The monoculture future baby Doesn’t matter where you shop or go for a weekend stop You’ll feel right at home with the monoculture syndrome It casts its spell, the one from hell, so we can all share the glare and razzledazzle of its beauty Have you heard? We came, we saw, we concurred Post it online, tell em you’re having a great time with the monoculture Future baby, the monoculture Future Repeat after me: It’s the future baby, the monoculture Future It’s the future baby, the monoculture Future Monoculture future The empire of monoculture The creeping sleep of monoculture The creeping death of monoculture The creeping mesmerism of monoculture

about

Recorded at Rockfield Studios in January 2023, this album is a departure from my usual songwriting process. Chris Olley persuaded me to go into the studio with him and Charlie to record an album of old and new songs using just a Moog synthesiser and a set of drums. It was recorded live, with me in the vocal booth, Charlie in the drum space and Chris in the control room modulating the bass loops.

It was such a radical shift from my guitar dominated songwriting that I was unsure about the end result. Chris and Stu (photographer and all-round good guy) kept telling me how great it sounded. When I got home and played the album, its stripped down, uncompromising sound started to grow on me. Then Chris mastered the tracks and it was like he'd coated the music in chrome - it sounded amazing! Now every time I listen to any of the album it just gets better and better.

The album belongs to Charlie though; it's as good as it is due to his imperious drumming.
